Learning Anatomy as an Artst!

When someone hears "Anatomy" they automatically think of it as a scientific term, that only doctors and forensic scientists need to know about it. Well I say that's Not True!! I believe everyone in the art industry should at least be aware if not fully acquainted with how a human body is put together. That knowledge will be most helpful to an artist who draws from memory. The figure will be more accurate when they know how the muscles and bones fit together and how they move in action.

For me personally it's always been quite frustrating trying to draw human figures from memory because in my mind I had this stencil of how the human body looks like and it never quite looked right. The proportions were always off and the body didn't seem to have volume or density. I realized that in order to be able to draw human figures (or animals as well) I had to learn the mechanics of body parts, specifically bones and muscles.

It's very important for artists to know this information, whether they are a concept artist, comic book artist, 3-D modelers, or illustrator, it comes in handy at all times.

These are some of my projects done in Anatomy class. I'll probably add more as I go.
